Answers to Frequent Questions
To print multiple envelopes select each entry that you want to print. To print all entries in an address group, click on the first address in the list and press COMMAND-A. Then click the Print button on the Simple Envelope toolbar or click on the File menu and select Print Selected Envelope. These options will print one envelope for each selected address, however, if some records in the Address Book have multiple addresses (eg, one for work and one for home), you may want to automatically choose home addresses only, or work addresses only.
We are aware of this problem. Unfortunately it appears to be an issue with the way Apple displays these results and we do not currently have a work around. It does not affect the printed envelope.
Yes. Click the File menu and select either Print Envelope or Print Selected Envelopes and then click the Preview button in the Print window.
Yes. Simple Envelope automatically recognizes both both 5 and 9 digit USPS barcodes. Click the Simple Envelope menu and select Preferences. Select the barcode type on the Use Barcodes drop down list. If you want the barcode to appear above the address click the Barcode Above Address checkbox and click OK.
Simple Envelope will only print a barcode if the return address and delivery address are for the same country. Often the country is not defined in 'My Card' in the Address Book. This can cause Simple Envelope to omit the barcode for all addresses. To resolve the issue insure that barcode printing is enabled in Preferences (see question above) and then conduct the following steps:
Yes. Simple Envelope uses Mac's Address Book for all addresses. Open the Address Book and click the File menu and select Import. Follow directions based on the types of addresses that you wish to import.
Yes. Click on the Simple Envelope menu and select Preferences. Click the checkbox for Hide Country. If desired, click the checkbox for If Sames as Return/Delivery Address. This will only omit the country if the return and delivery addresses match.
Some countries can be referred to by several different names (eg, United States, United States of America, U.S., USA), so in order for Simple Envelope to be able to tell that these different names all refer to the same country as the return address, enter the names in this field (each on a separate line). Simple Envelope will treat each of these as though it was the same as the return address country, for the purposes of hiding the delivery country and barcoding.
Click on the File menu, select Page Setup, and then change the Paper Size. This will display all of the built-in paper and envelope sizes for the selected printer (envelope #10, B5, C5, etc.). You can also create a custom size at the bottom of this list. The specified envelope size is applied to the current Profile. This enables you to have multple profiles for each envelope size that you need to print.
